Good morning, children! How are you today? Well, who is absent today? Why? How do you like the weather? Well, thank you. Let’s work. Now please ask each other any question you like. Let’s work by chain. (учащиеся друг другу задают вопросы по цепочке и отвечают на них). Today we are going to hold the discussion “Advantages and disadvantages of watching TV?” I hope everybody is ready to prove his point of view and ask the questions. Remember! You Should be respect other opinion and be polite. (учащиеся проводят дискуссию в виде интервью). Pupil 1 (Jessica Smith, the leader of discussion): Good morning, Ladies and Gentlemen! I’m Jessica Smith. Today we’ll talk about the influence of watching TV on children. Representatives of British pupils are here. They agree to give the interview to journalists of popular newspaper and TV programmes. They will tell us about their opinion on this problem. And we’ll try to understand whether it’s good or bad to spend a lot of time in front of TV. Pupil 2 (representative of British pupils): My name is Kate. I think we must watch TV to be well informed. It gives wonderful possibilities for education, such programmers help us to prepare for lessons, get more information in history, geography, literature. Pupil 1 (Jessica Smith): It’s right time for asking questions to Kate. Reporters: - Do you like watching TV? - Are you a "couch potato "? - What’s about health. It’s bad for eyes first of all? - Are you alone? - Do you red books, meet friends? Pupil 3 (representative of British pupils): My name is Sveta. I like watching TV very much. Television brings the world to our living-room. We see people in our country and in other lands, and learn of their customs, occupations, opinions and problems. And I have a lot of friend. We are going together to the theatre, cinema. I have enough time for all. Pupil 4 (representative of British pupils): My name is Ann. There is a lot of positive about TV, but heavy viewing of television places us at risk of exposure to graphic violence, sexual portrayals, commercialism, racial and gender stereotyping, and vulgar language. I think, if you are full of life and energy you won’t spend a lot of time in front of TV. Pupil 1 (Jessica Smith): We’ve listened to different opinions of young people from British school. You see that their stories are as different as they are. Some of them can see a lot of advantages, others can find disadvantages. Thank you for taking part in our discussion. I hope you enjoyed taking part in the discussion. Let’s sum up our observations. -What did you like most? -What knowledge did you get? - What sources of information did you use while preparing your speech? -What didn’t you like? I hope our lesson has helped you to determine your own attitude to TV. Thank you for your excellent and interesting work! Good-bye! |
